Problems at the shelf

Six problems DJ Crate removes from set preparation

Problem

Can't remember where each record lives

DJ Crate solves it

Assign records to storage units and compartments, then find the right one from your phone while standing at the shelf.

Problem

Don't know your records' BPM or key

DJ Crate solves it

DJ Crate analyzes tracks automatically and shows BPM and Camelot key; you can correct an uncertain value just for yourself.

Problem

Building a vinyl set takes hours

DJ Crate solves it

Filter tracks by tempo and key, run Set Builder, and save the result as a crate.

Problem

Your collection is in Discogs, but it is awkward to work with

DJ Crate solves it

Upload a Discogs CSV: matches reach your library in a minute, while every other row stays visible for review.

How it works

Three steps from CSV to a ready set

  1. 01

    Import a Discogs CSV

Upload the collection export. Matches are added; every valid unmatched row becomes a visible draft.

  2. 02

    Get BPM/key and QR labels

Enrich the cards, print a sheet, and label the physical records.

  3. 03

    Build a crate

Filter by tempo and key, shape a set, and pull the right records from the shelf.

BETA / OPEN ACCESS

How much does it cost?

Everything is free during beta

DJ Crate is currently in beta, so everything is free. The core DJ library will remain free after launch: collection import, search, BPM and key, crates, and labels. Over time, advanced features for collectors and sellers will become paid — collection valuation, QR sales, bulk printing and, possibly, finding missing previews, which requires additional resources. Prices will be announced in advance.

FAQ

The essentials

How do I start building my library?

Upload a Discogs Collection CSV, or add releases one by one from the shared catalog, a Discogs link, or a fully manual card. Valid unmatched CSV rows stay visible as drafts.

What if a track has no preview?

Use “Find preview” on the release card. If no source is found, attach your own audio file up to 20 MB to that track — it stays private and only the owner can play it.

Can I trust BPM and key values?

Treat them as practical hints, not absolute truth: short intros, live drums, and half- or double-time material can confuse analysis. Correct a value just for your own library without changing anyone else's data.

How do QR labels work?

Choose releases, an A4 or Letter template, margins, and the starting sheet cell. The PDF includes card data and a QR passport for that copy; check print scale with page fitting disabled.

Which data stays private?

Copy condition, storage location, notes, rating, tags, crates, personal BPM/key, and uploaded audio files are owner-only. Shared short previews belong to the catalog and do not expose private fields.
